TERMS OF BUSINESS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW NARROWBOAT
Stowe Hill Marine Ltd. is a member of the Canal Boatbuilders Association, itself affiliated to the British Marine Federation. Membership means that you can be sure that your boat will be constructed according to the safety standards incorporated in the Recreational Craft Directive. Compliance with this became mandatory in January 2006.
A deposit of *£500.00 (deductible from the final invoice) will secure a position on the construction schedule. An Agreement between yourself and Stowe Hill Marine Limited will then be drawn up. This agreement is based upon the British Marine Federation standard construction agreement.
Up to six stage payments are specified in the agreement, payable at certain stages of completion. The final stage payment is made at the completion of an acceptance trial.
In accordance with B.M.F. regulations each of our boats has a unique hull identification number so that its month and year of manufacture can be determined. This number will be used by us on all documentation throughout the build process.
