"For 2009 we have changed the specification to reflect our customers requirements for more luxurious and high quality bathroom and galley fixtures and fittings"

THE 2009 STOWE HILL MARINE SPECIFICATION

The steel shell is produced by Reeves of Napton to our unique patterns, styles and dimensions with 10mm bottom plate, 6mm hull and cabin side and 4mm roof. Fore and aft decks are self-draining and there is a forward gas locker isolated from the rest of the boat, vented to the outside. In general the freeboard of a Stowe Hill boat is somewhat lower and the cabin sides rather higher than others and special requirements for hull design features can be accommodated.

A set of side doors with perspex cover and escape hatch is provided together with two stern seats. There is an integral diesel and water tank with a stainless steel holding tank and level gauges for each. A quiet diesel engine and gearbox is chosen to suit length with deluxe engine panel and python drive to absorb propeller thrust and reduce vibration.
The hull is coated inside and out with anti corrosion paint and the floor is treated with bitumastic. Spray foam is applied for insulation and the prevention of condensation and the boat is ballasted with concrete slabs. The floor of the boat is constructed in 18mm ply with cabin and hull lining in 12mm ply, veneered appropriately in oak, ash or mahogany. The roof lining is made of 6mm ply or painted tongue and groove planks in pine. Furniture and doors are made from 12 or 18mm veneer, edged with hardwood and decoratively chamfered. The steel side and rear doors are timber lined while the front doors can be steel with timber lining or wood framed and half glazed.

Three 125aH domestic batteries are fitted with battery monitor, and a dual alternator split charging system. 240v sockets are fitted, with a landline shore connection and a 1.2Kw Inverter/charger. Hot water and heating are supplied by a diesel-fuelled boiler. All internal fixings, hinges, bolts, catches, hooks etc are in brass as are the single glazed portholes and mushroom vents.
The positions and arrangements of bedroom, bathroom, galley and saloon are decided upon by the customer with our help if required. The bedroom has a cross bed or full-length bed, a wardrobe, two bedside cupboards and high level lockers. The bathroom has a pump-out lavatory, a ceramic basin within a vanity unit and an eye level mirrored cupboard. A high quality fully tiled domestic sized shower is fitted with a choice of shape and design and high quality taps and shower mixer are also included. The galley is fitted with a four-burner gas hob and separate oven/grill unit with a 12v fridge and sink/drainer with cupboards underneath. A separate eye level cupboard is also provided or a hand made timber plate rack. Worktops are in solid oak but granite and other materials can be fitted as an alternative. The saloon is fitted with a dinette convertible or L shaped seating area, a set of under gunwhale cupboards.

A solid fuel fire and a half height TV or drinks cupboard. Externally the boat is painted with coach enamel, coach lined and sign-written. The rear doors are traditionally painted on the inside. A cratch cover with decorated cratch board/fold down table is provided with two poles, front, rear and side fenders, three ropes, a central mooring eye or T, and a boarding plank. Brass fairleads are positioned on the fore deck and handrail.
